Timothy M. Salo, PhD

Dr. Timothy M. Salo has spent 15 years teaching in higher education, teaches philosophy and religion at Pillar College and Centenary University, and is an adjunct and affiliate professor in CAPS at Indiana Wesleyan University. He also taught philosophy and Western civilization at Nyack College and The King’s College (both in NY), and at Wesley Seminary (IN). He is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church (Great Lakes Regional Conference) and the pastor of Gillette Community Chapel, an interdenominational congregation in Gillette, NJ.

Dr. Salo serves on the Regional Board of Ministerial Development, where he interviews, trains, and approves new pastors. He also mentors a group of four young pastors every month and is a professional advisor/mentor to students in all levels of higher education. Timothy regularly delivers papers at historical and theological conferences, has written a college and graduate curriculum, and is a published author with a number of book chapters on religion in early modernity and the Enlightenment.

Dr. Salo holds a Ph.D. Degree in Theology and Philosophy from Drew University and a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) from Drew University in Theology and Philosophy. He also received a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) in Theology and Church History at Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Master of Ministry (M. Min.) Degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Dr. Salo’s Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Pastoral Ministry is from United Wesleyan College, which is now part of Houghton College.
