Rev. Dr. A. Craig Dunn began teaching at Pillar’s undergraduate program in 2014 and now leads several courses as an adjunct professor in Pillar College’s MAC (Master of Arts in Counseling) program. Throughout his 30 years of ministry, he has served as an associate minister, assistant pastor, and Director of Christian Education. His ministry work has given him a unique understanding of churches and people, which serves his students and colleagues well. He has also worked in senior management at USA Today, City and Suburban Delivery Inc., The New York Times, and Marshall Cavendish Corporation. Before joining the Pillar family, Dr. Dunn led sales teams, business development strategies, and education publishing sales on national levels.
Dr. Dunn serves as the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Madison. One of his major accomplishments here was “Beloved Community Conversations,” an effort to unite the people of Madison and surrounding towns through discussions and activities. He is a chaplain to the Chatham Borough in Madison and Montclair Police Department as well. Craig serves as Executive Director of the Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation in Montclair, New Jersey, which services low-income people, youth, and senior citizens. He also serves on the Committee for Professional Ministry for the American Baptist Church-NJ and is a Trustee at the University of Saint Elizabeth, Madison, NJ.
Dr. Dunn was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in 1991 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Montclair, NJ, and ordained at the New Hope Baptist Church in East Orange, NJ. He is also a Life Member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Craig attended Villanova University in Villanova, PA and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Dr. Dunn is a three-time graduate of Drew Theology Seminary with a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), a Master of Sacred Theology (STM), and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min).
