Professor Gerard Cleaves is a Senior Lecturer of Management and advisor to Pillar Enactus, the college’s dynamic social entrepreneurship team. Before coming to Pillar, he taught management, ethics, leadership, and strategy curriculum to undergrads, MBAs and Executive MBAs at Fairleigh Dickinson University for 16 years. He also was employed at Exxon, as well as several global supply chain management and strategic planning start-up companies. Professor Cleaves also founded the Anchor of Hope Alliance to focus on mental health, homelessness, and addiction, and launched Anchor of Hope @ Pillar College in 2021.
Gerry has degrees in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University (BS ChE) and Princeton (MSE), and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Since 2000, he has been on the Board of Directors of the Market Street Mission (Morristown, NJ), the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission (Asbury Park, NJ), and MSM Sussex County (Newton, NJ). He is also a member of the NJ Shelter Provider’s Consortium and the Enactus Faculty Advisory Committee.
